Motor Operators

Gearhead Operators

Bronze cut worm gears in oil bath enclosed in a cast iron enclosure, the gearhead operators are used in industrial or frequent usage applications, more than 15 cycles per day. The standard mounting for these operators is vertically in front of hood, but they may also be mounted horizontally in front of hood. Gearhead Operators can be used on all doors and grilles.

For small doors and grilles to be cycled 15 times or less each day, use 1/2 H.P. limited duty motor operator. For larger and more frequently cycled doors use 1/2 H.P. to 3 H.P heavy duty motor operator.

Belt Drive Operators

A gear reducer of roller chains and sprockets, these operators are designed for commercial use. The standard mounting for belt drive operators is vertically in front of hood.

For smaller doors and grilles to be cycled no more than 10 times per day, use 1/2 H.P. 115 volt limited duty motor operator. For doors and grilles that will cycle up to 25 times per day, use 1/3 H.P. to 1 H.P. heavy duty motor operator.

Midget Operators

Cookson has developed a miniature 1/6 H.P. Gearhead Operator for all Counter Doors including Counter Fire Doors, FD10, SD10 and FD10ST models. Its compact design provides the convenience of motor operation without the bulk of a traditional motor operator.

Control Equipment

All Cookson Gearhead and Belt Drive operators are furnished with factory prewired controls in NEMA 1 enclosures, complete with over current protection, and a NEMA 1 push button station marked “Open-Close-Stop”. Most of the operators also include an emergency chain operator. Optional Controls and other NEMA enclosures are available for all Gearhead and Belt Drive Operators.
